I lost my beloved Andy to hemangiosarcoma last September…I must admit,I’d never heard of this cancer.
He appeared to be in perfect health…one morning he wouldn’t eat his breakfast,I thought maybe he’d
eaten some bad pizza he ingested on a walk…the second day I took him to the vet, they ran tests, they came back horrible.
The local vet said I should take him to the emergency vet,he died on the way…2 days sick and he was gone.
but,I was with him when he left

Mighty Quinn
Pledge
I lost my beloved golden, Mighty Quinn on May 5, 2025. He didn't show any symptoms, but we visited the vet after he threw up his dinner twice. She ran a few tests and diagnosed him with cancer on April 8. We began working with a holistic provider, but by the beginning of May he had stopped eating. He still wanted to be near his golden sister, Xena, and me, all the time. We knew it was nearing the end and didn't want him to collapse and suffer. She provided at-home euthanasia. What really hurt was that he was only 6 1/2 years old. His sister will be turning 6 next week and I also now have another golden puppy, Rowan, who is 6 months old. I always called Quinn my "old soul" and will miss him always. He was the "bestest boy." Please continue to research this devastating disease and find a cure!

Pet Name
Tater
Pledge
Tater was my best friend. He accompanied me everywhere. He touched my soul like no other dog has. He was Hero #359 in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. He was still qualifying and earning titles in AKC Agility at 13 years 11 months old. He died of Hemangiosarcoma 14 days shy of 14 years old. Tater was such a loving compassionate dog. He left a huge gaping hole in my heart and will be forever missed.

Sam (Samuel Golden Jackson)
Pledge
Our golden retriever Sam lost his battle with lymphoma last October, 17 months after his diagnosis. Strong and dignified until the very end, he battled this disease with grace and a never ending sense of purpose - to be the best friend to all who met him. He is sorely missed, and I hope that the MAF’s research continues to provide answers for a future that is cancer-free for all our loving fur babies!

Pet Name
Olivia
Pledge
Olivia was my beloved 14-year-old granddog, who had been adopted as a puppy from the shelter at Angell-MSPCA in Jamaica Plain by my younger son, David. A year ago, Olivia was diagnosed with a metastatic cancer of the liver and bladder and underwent extensive treatment with targeted therapy in oncology and integrative veterinary holistic treatments for six months before succumbing to her cancer in June. For some years, Morris has been very helpful to me in matters of my own young dog's cancer and treatment, and I would like to honor Olivia at this time with a donation in her memory to be used for research to find cures for this dreaded disease that is taking the lives of so many loving and undeserving dogs.
