Finn
Pledge
My best friend, Finn, was lost in a matter of days after his diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma. Together, we traveled the country, seeking out trails and cool spots. He was the sweetest and most gentle soul I've ever encountered. He was diagnosed with a tumor on his heart and six days later was put to rest at the age of 6. It has been the hardest experience of my life. I pledge to do what I can to honor him and support everyone who has gone through the pain I know all too well. Cancer is an evil, evil thing, but together, we can make strides to give our loved ones a brighter future. We don't deserve them, but we can try to fight for them.

Luna and Stella
Pledge
My perfect and wonderful Golden Retriever Luna went to heaven far too soon because of lymphoma. When I faced breast cancer a few years later, I remembered how strong and brave and actually happy Luna was throughout chemotherapy, so I knew that if Luna could do it, so could I. My next special and amazing Golden Stella lived until a month short of 13 years. She had cancer, too, but much later in her life and she did not suffer. I feel that what I learned about prevention of cancer from this foundation is why she was so healthy for so long. The bond between my heart and Luna's and Stella's was like iron, and the love and memories will never fade.

Ralphie
Pledge
My beloved Ralphie, the most wonderful, sweetest, gentlest loving dog in the world -- he never growled, never barked, and only loved with all his heart -- was an adorable white Bichon Frise/Poodle mix. He was adopted at age 12 from a shelter in our neighborhood (his elderly owner had gone to a nursing home), and Ralphie became my husband's and mine for the next 5 years, at which time he was diagnosed with cancer. At the age of 17, treatment was not an option, and we didn't want him to suffer.

Rest in peace, my darling boy, and I hope to meet with you again beyond the rainbow bridge. It's been years since I kissed you goodbye, but I still miss you so much!
